Pregnant, I always worried about "how" will I know why my baby is crying. Everyone told me that you just learn. Evan came home and that first night was a rough one for all. But then I watched Oprah and Priscilla Dunstan was demonstrating the 5 universal cries a baby makes. It was fascinating and educational and true. So I felt less nervous. And yes, I learned Evan's cries. But this theory is only for the first 3 months. So when he started crying inconsolably when he was 4.5 months... we didn't know what was wrong... he wouldn't eat or anything... so we decided he was "teething".... and he was... A month and a half later, he cut his first tooth on May 16.
So this week, when the crying and fussiness began, we knew the teething was full blown. Sure, for the past couple months he had a rash on his face and biting down hard on anything you gave him. And the time is here... Evan is rapidly getting his next 2 teeth (the top canine) and it's tough. Waking at night and just screams. He loves this teething ring and the baby orajel.
And just as these teeth are cutting through, he has swollen gums for his 2 front teeth... meaning the next 2 are just around the corner....
Just can't believe he went from zero teeth to his 2 bottom teeth and soon 6!!! Well, it was a rough night, so it's time for my nap :)
