Our little Evan turned 3 months old on Valentine's Day. He was hoping to get to play in the snow, but alas, the shoreline only received about 2-3 inches in slush that turned to ice. He'll have to continue to wait to play in the snow. But our little Evan isn't as little anymore. He's over 12 lbs. and has outgrown all his 0-3months clothes. Luckily he's so loved that he has received many clothes and what he didn't get his mommy likes to shop, so he's probably all set.
Evan can proudly hold his head up straight (most of the time) and when he doesn't and his head flops forward, pray that your chin isn't in the way. Otherwise, you'll hear a very unhappy baby and a cry of pain that breaks your heart. I swear he has already developed his favorite songs and knows the routine of the diaper changes... so if mommy sings the wheels of bus on the changing table, baby is happy and finishes his business. Very important for baby to finish his business before mommy or daddy change the diaper.
I've started working from home and it's a challenge. Finding the time during the day only happens when Evan is sleeping. Or now, when he wakes up and is just happy to be with mommy/daddy... and he sits on my lap as I type. This will only last for moments.... but it allows me to finish my thoughts.
We are trying to get back to our "normal" lives plus baby. And I think we are getting there. Of course, things aren't the way they used to be, but getting there... we are both back to the gym; girls' nights out; time with the guys and happy hours; we do errands without much inconvenience; we do travel (drives to visit friends, drives to NJ and soon a flight to FL to visit family and spring training)... and now we get to share all these things with a little baby boy who smiles up at you with such joy and love that it makes all the "inconveniences", all the changes, all the differences worth it.. because Evan's happiness is worth it all. I know... a bit of mush... but that's OK... I'm a new mom and its allowed.
Look for new photos coming soon...still waiting for Dan to show me how.. I tried and failed.

Week 12
This past Saturday we had a some friends and family come for a visit. I don't get to entertain much these days, so I tried to show off... by pulling out the chocolate fountain. I love chocolate and a friend of mine gave me the fountain at my bridal shower. I didn't have the chance to test it out so I tried on Saturday. It only worked for about 30seconds. But tasted great all day. There is a possibility that it was not assembled correctly (operator error)... or needed the chocolate to be smoother... so I'll try it out again...the sacrifices one makes.
How did Evan handle having a house full of people? He liked it. Of course, mom & dad forgot to pull the camera out for most of the day... but Evan didn't give anyone a hard time and enjoyed being held and rocked to sleep. He used his charm and good looks and convinced a few folks who at first didn't want to hold him yet (wanted to wait til he's older) to hold him... but he smiled, they melted and they held him. I won't name names, but they know who they are ....
And the good news is that Dan and I have finally had a chance to organize the house...again. Evan's early arrival thru us all into chaos, but as he's approaching his 3 month birthday (12 weeks tomorrow), we are settling in. Sure, there is baby stuff is practically every room of the house, but so far it's under control.
Well, Dan uploaded some new photos of Evan, so be sure to click on the link on the right to view. Enjoy!!
